In the centuries old Alpenrose family tradition was always written large.
What began in 1907 with a modest pension, was acquired in 1947 by Oswald and Ida von Siebenthal and has since remained in family ownership. Grandmother Ida was already known for its cuisine and traveled for their incomparable Nidlechueche the guests from afar. Fredy son graduated from the chef apprenticeship at the father of the famous Fredy Girardet and brought the nouvelle cuisine in the Oberland. Together with his beautiful wife Monika, he took over the family business in 1961 and led the Alpenrose in the league of Swiss chefs. Each season has been invested in the house and renovated in 1976, the company was a proud member of the Relais & Châteaux Association. Unfortunately Fredy von Siebenthal died with less than 50 years of heart failure and left Monika and five juvenile children. With the assistance of many regular customers and loyal employees Monika had the courage to continue to run the business with passion. As the son of Michel graduated from apprenticeship as a chef known Real in Vaduz and his years of travel at top chefs in France, Belgium and Canada attended, it was clear to him that he will soon take over the family business. The marriage to Carole Buck in 1988, the great extension and renovation of the hotel in 1989 brought the Alpenrose in a new era. From the small board an impressive hotel with 20 spacious rooms has been created in a traditional chalet construction. Carole and Michel von Siebenthal lead the beautiful operating with great sensitivity and skill in its third generation. Their three daughters Antina, Chantal and Yasmin have selected all the training in the hospitality industry and in turn help with home - a real family flat.
